5 Fun Things to Do in Denver in July 2020

After being cooped up in the house for the last few months, COVID-19 restrictions have started to lighten up. With the city reopening, keeping social distancing practices in mind, there are a variety of fun activities to check this summer. Read on to learn about five fun activities every Station A resident can enjoy in Denver this July.

1. Dining Out at Restaurants and Bars

This July, many Denver restaurants and bars will be partially reopened or opened with restrictions in place. This summer is a great time to enjoy the food and drinks you have been missing for the last few months, while also supporting locally owned businesses. Many top restaurants and bars in the Denver area will be open for in-house dining this July. To see if your favorite restaurant or bar will be offering this service, be sure to check out their website for more information.

2. Enjoying the Great Outdoors

After being stuck inside the last few months, enjoying the great outdoors will be a real treat. Camping grounds, state parks, and national parks around the Denver area and throughout Colorado are all reopening. Some fun spots around Denver to check out this July are Red Rocks Park, Cherry Creek State Park, Mount Evans, and Rocky Mountain National Park. At these spots, you can partake in a variety of fun outdoor activities like hiking, biking, climbing, fishing, kayaking, camping, and more.

3. Viewing Denver Museums

Another fun activity to check out this July is the opportunity to view some of Denver’s greatest museums. Not all museums in Colorado are set to be reopened this summer. However, all eight of History Colorado’s museums throughout the state will be returning to in-person service. The History Colorado Center and Center for Colorado Women’s History at the Byers-Evans House Museum are two History Colorado museums that are located right in Denver. You could even plan an exciting road trip this summer and visit all eight History Colorado museums that are scattered throughout the state.

4. Visiting the Denver Zoo

One fun activity you can do this summer is to visit the Denver Zoo. The zoo has been closed since March 17, 2020, due to COVID-19 regulations. However, the zoo is now back up and running with multiple COVID-19 safety measures in place. All guests over the age of three are required to wear a face mask while visiting the zoo, to protect the health and safety of all employees and guests. The zoo’s newest attraction to check out this July is the Stingray Cove. Getting outside and seeing all the exhibits the zoo has to offer will be a fun activity to experience this summer.

5. Taking in the Denver Botanic Gardens

A final activity you might enjoy this July is experiencing the Denver Botanic Gardens. The public botanical garden is located in the Cheesman Park neighborhood of Denver and spanning over 20-acres. There is much to see and experience at the gardens from nature to art to education to conservation to sustainable living practices. You won’t be disappointed with a fun trip to the gardens this July. Be sure to check out their website to learn more about their reopening plans and what precautions will be put in place this summer to practice proper social distancing protocol.
